I have kept journals for over 30 years. My journals pages have become more and more visually complex. The first books contained mostly writing and some drawing. Over the years they now include drawing, painting, collage, ticket stubs, and articles from the newspaper or magazine that are pertinent to me. I collage each journal cover and put the number of the book and the date that I start it. Liza Kirwin curator at the Smithsonian said that I had already created an archive system making it easy to catalogue my work.
